MADE FOR THE GARDEN

an original 36" x 36" x 1" acrylic painting This painting began as something entirely different. Beneath the surface lies an earlier work that held the story of a relationship and a season that had come to an end. Rather than discarding the canvas, I chose to paint over it, allowing the old image to become the foundation for something new. At the center, an opening in the heart reveals flowers reaching toward the light as a hummingbird hovers nearby—a reminder that life often emerges from the places we least expect. In a garden, what appears to be decay becomes compost, nourishing future growth. Perhaps our lives unfold in much the same way. This piece is a reflection on healing, not as forgetting the past, but as allowing it to be transformed. The heart carries its history, yet remains capable of beauty, renewal, and love. Sometimes the richest gardens grow from the ground we once believed was barren.
